472 Bangladeshis died of Covid-19 abroad

At least 472 Bangladeshi migrants have died of Covid-19 infection in different countries around the world till Friday.

This information has been known from Bangladesh missions in different countries, the Bangladeshi expatriate community, and the international media.

According to the reports, the highest number of expatriate Bangladeshis has died of coronavirus in the United States. At least 234 Bangladeshis have died of Covid-19 till Friday in the United States alone.

Hundreds of Bangladeshi corona patients have been undergoing treatment in hospitals there and huge numbers of virus-infected patients are being treated at home.

Followed by the USA, the UK is at the second top position in terms of the death of expatriate Bangladeshis. At least 123 Bangladeshi nationals have died of coronavirus infection there.

Besides, 65 Bangladeshi nationals became the victims of the deadly virus in Saudi Arabia, which is the highest number of Bangladeshi’s death in the Middle East region.

Moreover, 15 Bangladeshis died in the UAE, seven in Canada, eight in Italy, five in Spain, four in Qatar, three in Kuwait, two in Sweden and one each in Libya, France, Sweden, Portugal, Gambia, South Africa and Kenya.

The first Bangladeshi expatriate was diagnosed positive for Covid-19 in Singapore. So far, about four thousand Bangladeshi citizens have been infected with coronavirus there. However, no Bangladeshi is reported dead yet there.
