Bangladesh records record single-day spike in Covid-19 deaths, cases

Bangladesh reported the record coronavirus deaths in a single day as 19 more people died in the last 24 hours from the deadly disease, bringing the body count to 269.

However, as 1,162 more people tested positive in the last 24 hours, Bangladesh also reported the highest single-day cases from coronavirus infection.

The number of confirmed cases totaled to 17,822 with the latest figure.

On Wednesday afternoon, Prof. Dr. Nasima Sultana, Additional Director General of the Health Services Directorate (DGHS), released the information in the regular online health update held at the Management Information System (MIS).

In the last 24 hours, 41 coronavirus testing laboratories across the country, tested 7,900 samples, she added.
