Bangladesh logs highest 1,202 COVID-19 infections in a day, 15 more die

Reported cases of coronavirus infection have crossed the 20,000 mark in Bangladesh as the country registered the highest single-day cases in the last 24 hours, with 1,220 more people testing positive.

The number of confirmed cases totalled jumped to 20,065 with the latest figure.

The country was also experiencing the deaths of fifteen more Covid-19 people during the same period, bringing the number of deaths in the country to 298.

Prof. Dr. Nasima Sultana, currently serving as Director-General of the Health Services Directorate (DGHS), announced the details in the daily online health briefing held on Friday afternoon at the Management Information System ( MIS).

In the last 24 hours, 41 coronavirus testing laboratories across the country, tested 8,582 samples, she added.

However, 279 people were cured of the ailment in the last 24-hours, bringing the count to 3,882.
