Sagar-Runi Murder: Probe report delayed for the 74th time

On Tuesday, a Dhaka court again ordered Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) to send the investigating report of a case filed on the murders of journalist couple Sagar Sarowar and Meherun Runi by October 14.

The investigating officer has taken 74 dates so far, with the latest date, to conclude the inquiry.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mohammad Millat Hossain passed the order after the case's investigation officer failed today to deliver the paper.

On 11 February 2011, Sagar, news editor for the private television station Maasranga and his wife Runi, senior reporter for another private television channel, ATN Bangla, were brutally murdered in their rented apartment.

Following a police investigation by Sher-e - Bangla Nagar, on April 18, 2012, RAB began probing into the murder.
