On Thursday, a tribunal in Dhaka began the weapons trial against Regent Group Chairman Mohammad Shahed by recording the complainant's testimony.

Judge KM Emrul Kayesh of the Dhaka Special Tribunal-1 reported a statement from SM Gaffarul Alam, a police branch detective inspector.

The witness was partially cross-examined by prosecution attorneys later on behalf of the accused.

The tribunal then set for the next hearing of the case September 13.

The same tribunal had framed charges against the accused in the case earlier on August 27.

Shahed was arrested from Satkhira on July 15, as he attempted to flee the country on a cruise.
