UNO Wahida’s father shifted to Dhaka for better treatment

On Friday night Ghoraghat Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) father Wahida Khanam was sent from Rangpur Medical College Hospital to Dhaka for better care.

Wahida 's brother Sheik Farid Uddin said the 70-year-old freedom fighter Omor Sheik was admitted to the National Institute of Neurosciences & Hospital.

An Rangpur City Corporation (RCC) ambulance took him down to the capital city, he said.

He had been undergoing treatment at Rangpur hospital since the early hours of September 3 attack by miscreants on UNO Wahida when Omor was injured while trying to shield his daughter.

Omar Sheikh is currently unable to move as the lower part of his body has gone numb, said physician.

Wahida Khanam, Ghoraghat (Dinajpur) Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO), was seriously injured in a September 3 attack by miscreants at her home at the premises of Upazila Parishad.

Her father Omar Ali also sustained injuries in the gruesome attack. They were taken to Hospital and Rangpur Medical College.

The UN was later airlifted by a Bangladesh Air Force MI-171SH helicopter from Rangpur to Dhaka.

She was admitted to Neurosciences & Hospital National Institute, Dhaka.
