Rifat murder case: Six including Minni get death penalty

On Wednesday, a Barguna court awarded the death penalty to five inmates, including Minni, in the sensational murder case of Rifat Sharif.
Judge Md Asaduzzman of the Barguna District and Sessions Judge Court read out the verdict in the city of Barguna in the midst of increased security.
In Barguna city, security was improved ahead of the verdict in the murder case of Rifat Sharif today.
In and around the court premises, additional police officers were mobilized while a number of check-posts were established at various points.
The circulation of pedestrians around the court is also being restricted.
At around 9:00 am, Rifat 's wife, Aysha Siddika Minni, went to court.
On September 16, District and Sessions Judge Md Asaduzzaman fixed September 30 for delivering verdict in the murder case.
Rifat, 22, son of Dulal Sharif, was hacked to death in broad daylight in the district town on June 26 last year.
On January 1, this year, the court started the trial through indicting 10 accused, including Rifat’s wife Ayesha Siddika Minni, in the case.
