On Monday, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said the government is cautious about taking prompt action against any kind of child oppression in the world.

"We are taking steps to ensure children's welfare ... we are paying particular attention to it so that timely action against any form of child oppression can be taken," she said.

The Prime Minister said this at the Bangladesh Shishu Academy Auditorium while inaugurating World Children's Day and Child Rights Week 2020. She literally attended the program from her official residence in Ganobhaban.

The government wants the children to stay safe and happy, get a beautiful life and be brought up as decent human beings, Sheikh Hasina said. "Our goal is that."

Recalling the horrific attacks of August 15 , 1975, in which Sheikh Russel was also killed with the Father of the Nation and his family members along with other children, Hasina said that any death of children seriously shocks her. "Whether it occurs in our country or abroad, whether it occurs in the Bay of Bengal or on the Mediterranean Sea shore, I am hurt by any incident."

The Prime Minister has confirmed that she wants the world to be a secure, livable and healthy place for children, where each of them has a bright future.

The Prime Minister reiterated that children are the nation's future and said that they need to be built up as worthy people of the country.

We have to give them the opportunity for their creativity, abilities and intellect to thrive. And that is possible by providing an acceptable atmosphere for their studies and good health. This will guarantee them a better life, which will allow them a stable future, "she said."
