Explanation on dress code of IPH employees sought

The authorities concerned have requested clarification from the Institute of Public Health about the dress code of their employees.

Media report reported on Thursday that the institute ordered its Muslim workers to uphold religious dress code in the office.

The Muslim male staff must wear clothes that are not below the ankle and female staff must wear hijab and clothes that go below the ankle in length, according to a notice signed by its chief, Dr Mohammad Abdur Rahim.

The workers were asked during office time to keep their phones in silent mode, the note added.
