Bangladesh records 39 more Covid-19 deaths

Bangladesh recorded 39 additional COVID-19 fatalities on Wednesday, bringing the count to 6,489 overnight.

As 2,156 new cases have been reported in the last 24 hours, the infection tally has risen to 45,41,46.

After a further 2,302 patients were discharged from hospitals during the time, the recovery count rose to 3,69,179, according to a press release from the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) this afternoon.

During the time, a total of 16,001 samples were tested at 117 approved laboratories across the nation.

Of the total sample tests performed in the past 24 hours, 13.47 percent tested positive, while 16.84 percent of the total tests conducted so far were reported, the release added.

Of the total infections, 81.29 percent of patients have recovered, while 1.43 percent have died so far since the country announced the first COVID-19 positive cases on March 8.
