HC revokes freedom fighter titles of 4 killers of Bangabandhu

The High Court (HC) today has repealed the freedom fighter titles of four of the accused killers of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

The four accused killers are- Shariful Haque Dalim, Moslem Uddin, Rashed Chowdhury and ABMH Nur Chowdhury.

An HC bench comprising Justice JBM Hasan and Justice Khairul Alam passed the order after hearing a writ petition on Tuesday, reports Jagonews.

The court also issued a ruling asking why the government's inaction in revoking their titles should not be declared illegal.Concerned defendants have been asked to respond to this ruling. The state titles of the four accused will remain suspended during the hearing on the ruling.Lawyer Abdul Qayyum (AK) Khan appeared in the court on behalf of the writ petition filed by lawyer Subir Nandi Das.

Earlier in 2017, a decision was taken to repeal the title and certificates of the four fugitives accused of the 15 August killings.
