Bangladesh reports 24 COVID-19 deaths, 4,51,961 total recoveries

24 novel coronavirus (COVID-19) deaths and 1,049 fresh cases were recorded overnight in Bangladesh.

After a further 1,473 patients were discharged from hospitals during the time, the recovery count rose to 4,51,961, a press release from the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said on Sunday.

In the last 24 hours, twenty-four more COVID-19 patients died, bringing the death toll from the pandemic to 7,452," the release said."

It reported that the infection tally increased to 5,09,148 as 1,049 new cases have been confirmed in the last 24 hours.

During the time, a total of 12,650 samples were tested at 167 approved laboratories across the nation.

Of the total sample tests performed in the last 24 hours, 8.29 percent tested positive, while 16.05 percent of the total tests conducted so far were detected, the release added.
