Jubo League leader gunned down in Cox’s Bazar

A central Jubo League leader was shot dead on Friday morning in the Teknaf upazila of Cox's Bazar by unidentified miscreants.

Mohammad Usman Sikder, 38, was named as the deceased. The organizing secretary of the Sabrang Union Juba League was Mohammad Ali's uncle, from the Kachubnia district of the Sabrang Union of the Upazila.

Usman was the former Upazila Chhatra League vice president.

Around 5.30am, when he was going to the mosque for Fajr prayers, the miscreants shot Usman to death in front of his home.

Nur Hossain, chairman of Sabrang Union Parishad (UP), and Nurul Alam, president of the Teknaf Upazila Juba League and chairman of the upazila, announced his death.

Ayub Hossain, a physician at the Teknaf Upazila Health Complex emergency department, said Usman Sikder died before he was taken to the hospital. His chest, abdomen and back were found to have three bullet wounds.
