Bangladesh will be the first country to receive India's Covid-19 vaccine, Foreign Minister Dr A K Abdul Momen said, citing India's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

He came up with comments opposing a study banning the export of corona vaccine by India.

The Indian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has told us that Bangladesh will obtain vaccinations on a priority basis. We've got nothing to think about," he said.

Terming statements of a personal and premature Serum Institute official, the Indian Foreign Ministry said such statements do not represent state policy.

Momen cited India's Ministry of External Affairs as saying that giving Bangladesh corona vaccine is part of the Indian government's high-level commitment provided during talks between Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her counterpart, Narendra Modi.

"Previously, the Indian High Commissioner in Dhaka said that the serum vaccine is not yet approved by the WHO and should only be applied on an emergency basis."

"No one should worry. The vaccine will arrive in due course.
