Taposh to file defamation case against Khokon

Mayor Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh of Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) has said he will file a defamation case against his predecessor, Sayeed Khokon.

When inspecting the waste removal activities of the capital's Kamalapur TT Para Box Culvert area on Monday, Mayor Taposh came up with the remark.

At a human chain program in front of the High Court earlier on Saturday, Khokon said that Taposh lost the right to stay in office by moving hundreds of taka crores from the company to a bank he owns.

"At a meeting on Saturday, the former mayor made some accusations against me out of personal frustration. His evidence and the arguments against me are defamatory. I'll probably take legal action against him,' said Taposh.
