Bangladesh to get some Covid-19 vaccines from India as gift: Health minister

On Monday, Health Minister Zahid Maleque said Bangladesh will receive some Covid-19 vaccines as a gift from India.

The minister made the remark in a briefing at the capital's Dhaka Reporters' Unity.

We will receive 50 lakh doses of the vaccine. In addition, as a gift, the Indian government may send some Covid vaccines to Bangladesh. The vaccines may arrive at any time in the world, he said.

Mentioning that the Oxford-AstraZeneca coronavirus vaccine will be exported by the Serum Institute of India to Bangladesh by 26 January, the minister said it will be given in hospitals and diagnostic centers as some individuals may face side effects.

He further added that the government will bear the expense for treatment if there is any side effect.
