Three petrol pumps fined Tk. 20,000 in Rangpur

A mobile court fined three petrol pumps Taka 20,000 in the city for measurement manipulation of different types of fuel and lack of proper documents on Monday afternoon.

Initiated by the Rangpur divisional office of Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI), Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-13 extended assistance in conducting the mobile court.

Executive Magistrate Mahmud Hasan Mridha of the district administration led the mobile court.

During the raids, the court found that the petrol pumps were engaged in depriving the clients of petrol, diesel, and octane through measurement manipulation and did not have proper authorization and documents.

The court fined Messrs Trust Filling Station Taka 10,000, Messrs Mizan Filling Station Taka 5,000, and Chand Petroleum Ltd Taka 5,000 for the reasons during the drives.

Inspector Lutfar Rahman of BSTI’s Rangpur divisional office and members of RAB-13 were present during the drives.
