Bashundhara Group MD Sobhan Anvir's anticipatory bail application in the case filed for 'inciting suicide'  of Mosarat Jahan alias Munia was not heard today.

No advance bail can be heard at the moment due to Supreme Court rules and government restrictions on the ongoing all-out lockdown. A virtual high court bench comprising Justice Mamnoon Rahman and Justice Khandaker Diliruzzaman passed the order on Thursday (April 29).

It is said in a notice that in the current lockdown and Covid-19 situation, the court has stated that it will not hear the bail application until further notice.

According to the Supreme Court's website, Bashundhara Group's managing director's application for an anticipatory bail hearing in a virtual High Court court was at number 14. But it was not heard.

Addressing the lawyers when the proceedings started at around 11.45am on Thursday, the court said, "Because of your plea, we said yesterday that we will hear some advance bail applications. But I did not say when I would listen. No advance bail can be heard at the moment due to Supreme Court rules and government restrictions on the current all-encompassing lockdown. Items 13 to 28 (application for advance bail) came incorrectly. The instructions were to come in the future, but today came by mistake. So the bail application will not be heard in advance. "

Police recovered the hanging body of Mosarat from a flat in Gulshan on the night of April 26. Her sister Nusrat Jahan filed a case with Gulshan police station. The only accused in the case is Sayem Sobhan Anvir, managing director of Bashundhara Group. Bashundhara's MD applied for anticipatory bail in the case on Wednesday (April 28).
