Covid-19: Bangladesh records more 65 deaths, 1,739 new cases

As the grim battle with Coronavirus goes on, Bangladesh reported 65 more virus-related deaths in 24 hours until Monday morning, raising the death toll from the deadly virus to 11,644.

Health authorities recorded 1,739 new infections after examining 19,431 samples during the period.

The daily infection rate slipped to 8.95 percent from Sunday’s 9.6 percent while the death rate remained static at 1.52 percent.

With the latest figure, 7,63,632 cases have been confirmed, the Directorate General of Health Services said in a handout.

The number of recoveries now stands at 6,91,162 including 3,834 new cases which indicates 90.50 percent of the patients have recovered.

Bangladesh reported its first coronavirus cases on March 8 last year and the first death on the 18th of that month.
