Seven-day special lockdown announced in Chapainawabganj

A one-week special lockdown has been declared in the Chapainawabganj district with an 11-point directive due to an increase in the corona infection rate. Deputy Commissioner Manjurul Hafeez made the announcement at a press briefing at his office on Monday afternoon. Superintendent of Police AHM Abdur Rakib and Civil Surgeon Zahid Nazrul Chowdhury were present at the press briefing.

The deputy commissioner said an upward rate of corona infection is being noticed in the Chapainawabganj district recently. In the last week, the rate of corona infection is more than 50 percent. As the situation has deteriorated, considering the overall situation, the lockdown has been given from 12 noon today as per the instructions of the cabinet department. To keep the people safe and secure, the lockdown will be implemented across the district for seven days with the unanimous decision of the District Corona Prevention Committee and the advice of health experts.

All shops and traffic will be closed during the lockdown. No vehicles from Rajshahi and Naogaon will be able to enter Chapainawabganj, no vehicles from Chapainawabganj will go outside the district. This will not apply to patients and other emergency care providers.

Deputy Commissioner Manjurul Hafeez told Prothom Alo that the mango market will sit. But it will be scattered. In case of transporting mangoes, mangoes can be transported by truck from the garden, as well as by courier. The factory will continue to operate under its own management. Workers have to be brought and taken under their own management.

Earlier on Sunday afternoon, the Civil Surgeon told Prothom Alo that the infection rate in the district had reached 74 percent after Eid. However, it has come down to 30 percent now. The infection has spread among the people who came from Dhaka before Eid. However, people also travel illegally through various borders of Chapainawabganj. It can spread a little from them. So far 60 people have come to Chapainawabganj through Sonamasjid land port immigration. One of them was found to be infected with corona. However, no symptoms were found in him. The second wave of corona affected 300. The number of infected people since last year is 1 thousand 232. One thousand people have recovered. The number of deaths in Corona is 25. However, the patients admitted to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital with corona are out of this calculation.

Initiatives have also been taken to create awareness by miking. Now the mango season is going on. Hygiene will also be neglected in the collection and marketing of mangoes.
