Four successive quakes hit Sylhet

Four moderate earthquakes jolted different parts of Sylhet today within a span of three and a half hours.

Meteorologist of Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD), Sylhet Sayeed Ahmed Chowdhury told BSS that the quake was felt at 3 degrees on Richter Scale at 10.36 am, 4.1 degrees on the Richter scale at 10:50 am, 2.8 degrees at 11.30 am, and 4 degrees 01.58 pm.

It originated with the border area of Sylhet but the epicenter could not be identified.

However, no casualty was reported.
