Hefazat-e-Islam has announced a new central committee excluding Mamunul Haque, a widely discussed Hefazat leader. The party has announced a new 33-member central committee with Maulana Junaid Babungari Amir and Nurul Islam Jihadi as secretary-general. Former committee member secretary Nurul Islam Jihadi announced the central committee of Hifazat-e-Islam Bangladesh at a press conference in the capital's Khilagaon on Monday (June 7th) at 11 am. At the same time, a 16-member advisory committee was announced with Allama Muhibullah Babungari as the chief adviser. Junaid Babungari and Muhibullah Babungari were not present at the time. In addition, leaders with jails and political identities have been dropped from the new committee.

Mamunul Haque, the joint secretary-general of the disbanded committee, was dropped from the new committee. Notable among those left out are Junaid Al-Habib and Maulana Sakhawat Hossain.
