Eid-e-Miladunnabi observed with religious fervor, slamming communal violence

The holy Eid-e-Miladunnabi, marking the birth and demise of the Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH), was observed in the city and elsewhere in the country today with due religious fervor and solemnity, condemning attacks on puja mandaps.

The traditional colourful rallies ‘Jasne Julush’ under the auspices of Ashekane Gausia Rahmania Mainiya Sahidiya Maizbhandaria and Anjuman-E-Rahmania Mainia Maizbhandaria were brought out from city’s Matshya Bhaban to Engineers Institution Bangladesh (IEB) and Gulistan Mahanagar Natyamancha in the city respectively.

Chief patron of Ashekane Gausia Rahmania Mainiya Sahidiya Maizbhandaria Alhaj Shahsufi Maulana Syed Shahid Uddin Ahmad Al Hasani Wal-Hossaini Maizbhandari (MAJI) led the rally.

Earlier, a discussion on the significance of Eid-e-Miladunnabi was held at Mahanagar Natyamanch.

Speakers at the meeting condemned the recent communal violence, including the attack on the puja mandaps, and termed it a terrorist act.

Shahsufi Maulana Syed Shahid Uddin Ahmad Maizbhandari said, “Those who committed terrorism in the name of Islam are the enemies of the Prophet.”

He said that an anti-Prophet group wants to spread the message that Islam is a terrorist religion. “They want to prove that Islam is a terrorist religion, not a religion of humanity. We have to be careful and alert about them. Now it is the time to act wisely,” he added.

Another procession was brought out by Anjuman-E-Rahmania Mainia

Maizbhandaria at 10 am parading different roads and maintaining health safety measures amid the novel coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic situation. It ended coming at IEB and held a discussion there.

Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud, MP, joined the discussion as the chief guest, while liberation war affairs minister

AKM Mozammel Haque, MP, was present as the special guest.

Besides, various organizations brought colourful processions. After the rallies, special prayers were offered seeking divine blessings of Almighty Allah for peace, progress and prosperity of the country and welfare of the Muslim Ummah.

Special prayers, Zikir, Doa and Milad Mahfil, discussions, providing food to the orphans and the destitute and processions to welcome the holy Miladunnabi were the main features of the day.

Islamic Foundation also organized a discussion highlighting the significance of the day.
