A Dhaka court today placed an associate professor of Begum Badrunnessa Government Girls' College on two-day remand in a case lodged under Digital Security Act (DSA).

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Masud Ur Rahman passed the order as police produced Ruma Sarker before the court and pleaded to place her on seven-day remand.

Ruma is accused of sharing on Facebook a video of Shahin Uddin murder in capital's Pallabi, terming it as the footage of Jatan Saha killing in Noakhali. She is also accused of spreading communal hatred through sharing rumors on social networking sites.

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested Ruma from her Baily Road flat on Wednesday and filed the case with Ramna Police Station.
