Terming BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia's remarks as contained in an interview as unrealistic, unacceptable and false, Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader yesterday said the BNP was the party of falsehood.

"Begum Zia was trying to befool the nation by resorting to falsehood and baseless statement...I hope she would be responsible in future and keep herself away from befooling the nation by making fabricated remarks," he said.

The minister made the remarks while giving his reaction to the interview given by the BNP Chief with a newspaper where she termed Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's call to her for a dialogue on October 26, 2013 as 'arranged drama'.

Quader said, "She didn't accept any proposal regarding dialogue, rather she continued nationwide violence that hurt the countrymen."

Any possible scope of holding a dialogue with the BNP got shut down when the party demeaned the prime minister by not allowing her to enter into the Khaleda Zia's political office where she went to express condolences to the BNP chief for the loss of her son, he said.

Expressing grave concern over the killings of innocent people by the BNP-Jamaat alliance in the name of movement, Quader said: "Violence and peace cannot go together. Likewise the patriots cannot compromise with enemies of the country. So, no dialogue will be held with the anti-state elements."
