Section 144 imposed in two Moulvibazar areas

The Moulvibazar administration has imposed upon section 144 in two areas of the district after two suspected militants dens were located on Wednesday morning.

The two areas are Borohat and Kushumbag of Moulvibazar municipality and Khalilpur union parishad - where the administration imposed the restriction up till two kilometres east (including Nasirpur village).

Moulvibazar district commissioner Md Tofayel islam told Prothom Alo the section 144 will remain imposed from 2.00pm Wednesday onwards.

Police condoned off two separate houses in Sylhet’s Moulvibazar, suspecting them to be militant hideouts.

There is an approximate distance of 20 kilometres between the two houses.

Sound of gunshots were reportedly heard in a suspected militant hideout in Moulvibazar’s Nasirpur during a drive conducted by law enforcers.

The law enforcement surrounded a house in Moulvibazar’s Borohat and another in Sadar upazila’s Sarkar Bazar, said Moulvibazar police superintendent Muhammad Shah Jalal on Wednesday morning.
