2 ‘bandits’ held after Sundarbans ‘gunfight’

Two suspected bandits were arrested following a “gunfight” with Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) in Chandpai range of the Sundarbans this morning.

The second-in-command of bandit gang “Sumon Bahini” was among the arrested, said Lt Col Anwaruzzaman, commanding officer of Rab-8.

The “gunfight” took place at Andaria creek under Chandpai range, the official said.
