Dhaka-Khulna rail link partially restored after 13-hr

The rail communication of Dhaka with the northern part of the country has been partially restored on Saturday morning after 13 hours of disruption due to derailment.

“Trains have been plying on the down line [Dhaka to Khulna] whereas the up line [Khulna to Dhaka] is still closed,” said Poradah junction station master Shariful Islam.

He hoped that the rail link will be fully restored by noon.

Earlier on Friday evening, a compartment of Rajshahi-bound Sagordari Express, including the locomotive, had derailed near Poradah rail station.
