The "World Mental Health Day" will be observed in the county as elsewhere of the globe tomorrow in a befitting manner.

This year's theme of the day is "Dignity in Mental Health-Psychological and Mental Health First Aid for All".

Different social, psychiatrists' and psychologists' organisations have chalked out elaborate programmes to observe the day.

President M Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina have issued separate messages on the occasion, wishing success of the day.

The president has urged all concerned to play a responsible role for ensuring mental health services for the people at the grassroots level.

In a message on the eve of the World Mental Health Day-2016, he said mentally sick people are part of the society and it is the responsibility of all to stand beside them without ignoring.

Abdul Hamid said the concept of health remains incomplete without an adequate understanding of mental health.

The prime minster in her message said the present government has been implementing various programmes, including setting up community clinics, to reach health services at the doorsteps of the people.

It is possible to cure mental sickness to a large extent if the causes are identified and treated timely, she added.

The president and the prime minister termed this year's theme of World Mental Health Day "Dignity in Mental Health-Psychological and Mental Health First Aid for All" as time-befitting.

They wished success of all programmes of the day.
