Poet Shankha Ghosh is no more

Shankha Ghosh, the eminent poet, died of Covid-19 on Wednesday in a hospital in Kolkata, West Bengal.
He was 89 years old at the time.
For the past few months, the poet has been dealing with a variety of old age issues. On the afternoon of April 14, he tested positive for a novel coronavirus infection.
Shankha Ghosh has been living in seclusion since then. He was placed on ventilator as his health began to deteriorate.
Chittapriya Ghosh is Shankha Ghosh's real name. He was born in Bangladesh's Chandpur district on February 5, 1932. Banaripara, Barishal, is where his family lives. However, the poet was born and raised in Pabna, where he received his Matriculation from Chandraprabha Bidyapith.
In 1951, he graduated from Presidency College, Calcutta, with a bachelor's degree in Bangla and a postgraduate degree from Calcutta University.
