President Sheik Fazle Fahim, Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI), said today that Bangladesh has the potential to earn US$ 20.8 billion of foreign investment from "Taipei Investment Summit, 2020."

"Taipei Investment Summit-2020 will take place in Taipei (the capital of Taiwan) and we have identified a $20.8 billion investment pool. Investment will reach different markets, including transportation, tourism, and vehicles. Money will come to the country's various economic areas, "he said.

The president of the FBCCI said this at the 33rd Confederation of Asia-Pacific Chambers of Commerce and Industry (CACCI) post-event press conference in a city hotel, a press release said.

Sheik Fazle Fahim announced that the Taipei Investment Summit-2020 will be jointly hosted by FBCCI and CACCI.

The CACCI conference was held in Bangladesh for the first time, he said. A vibrant network of business people was created through this gathering, he added.

The conference also created the opportunity to bring a large amount of foreign investment to the country, Fahim said. Sectors like roads, hospitality, and cars will earn the lion's share of this possible investment, he said.

For the first time in Dhaka, the 33rd CACCI Conference was organized jointly by FBCCI and CACCI. This press conference was held to remind the two-day conference's recipients. The conference was attended by 27 CACCI Member States including Bangladesh.
