Voting guidelines issued for Ducsu polls

Dhaka University today issued the voting guidelines for elections to Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (Ducsu) on March 11.

Students entering the voting centre before 2:00pm will be allowed to vote, a press release issued in this regard today said.

Student identity cards will have to be displayed before entering the polling centres and taking the ballot papers, it read.

Archways and metal detectors will be set up at every voting centre.

Special booths and necessary co-operation will be extended to visually impaired students.

Access to all types of motor vehicles to the university campus will be restricted through the three entry points Nilkhet, Shahbagh and High Court.

The instructions will not be applicable to vehicles (with sticker) of the concerned people related to the election activities.

People from all walks of life have been urged to use alternative routes till 10:00pm on the voting day.

Journalists will be allowed to go to voting centre’s guestroom after showing visiting card issued by chief returning officer.

Live telecast from polling booth is restricted and no one will be allowed to use any kinds of electronic devices including mobile phones inside the polling centres.

All classes and examinations of the university will remain closed on the election day.
