DU VC urges students to pay respect to others

Vice-Chancellor (VC) of Dhaka University (DU) Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman today urged the students to respect each other to establish peace and harmony in the society.

Terming the campus as a nurturing center of religious, cultural, non- communal and humanitarian values, he said students must equip themselves with these values.

Akhtaruzzaman said these while addressing the orientation programme of first- year students of different departments under Faculty of Science and the Faculty of Fine Art of DU at the TSC auditorium organised by Students’ Counseling and Guidance Office.

Congratulating the students, the VC hoped that they would overcome all challenges including financial one and be successful in their future life. The university authorities will provide all out support and cooperation to the students in this regard, he assured.

Director of Students’ Counseling and Guidance Office Professor Dr. Mahjabeen Haque presided over the programme while Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration) Prof Dr Muhammad Samad, Dean of the Faculty of Science Prof Dr Tofail Ahmad Chowdhury and Acting Dean of the Faculty of Fine Art Prof Sheikh Afzal Hossain addressed it as special guests.

Among others, Chairmen and Students Advisors of different departments were present on the occasion.
