The government has decided to hold the classes of the students of the Secondary School Certificate (SSC), the Higher Secondary Certificates (HSC) and Class-five on regular basis.

“Classroom teaching will start from September 12 at primary, secondary and higher educational institutions. From that day, the current SSC and HSC candidates and the SSC and HSC candidates for 2022 will join classes every day of a week except holidays. Fifth graders will similarly come to classes every day,” Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni told reporters today.

She announced the decision after presiding over an inter-ministerial meeting at the conference room of the Cabinet Division at the Secretariat here.

On the other hand, the students of class-I to class-IV will have to come to the educational institution once a week, Dipu Moni said.

She said strict health safety guidelines will be followed from the opening day of educational institutions.

Students and guardians have been instructed to enter the educational institutions in a row mentaining social distancing and there will be no assembly at educational institutions right now, the education minister said.

But, she said, considering the mental and physical well-being of the students, their sports or physical activities will continue following the health guidelines.

Dipu Moni said classes spanning four to five hours will be held daily at the educational institutions of the primary level, while its duration may increase in phases.

She said short syllabuses for this year's secondary and higher secondary students have already been prepared.

“If they take classes regularly, they will be able to get ready for examinations. If the educational institutions remain open, there is a possibility of completing the annual examinations of JSC, JDC and PEC, the education minister said.
