Rain, thunder likely in next 2 days

Rain and thunder shower in different regions throughout the country is likely to strike for the next two days this week.

This is because of a trough of westerly low which lies over Gangetic West Bengal and adjoining areas of Bangladesh, said a weather bulletin from the Bangladesh Meteorological Department this morning.

Besides, a seasonal low lies over South Bay.

Khulna, Barishal, Dhaka and Chattogram divisions and at one or two places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions will see rain and thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind is likely to occur with hails at isolated places today, says the bulletin.

Day temperature may fall by 1 to 3°C and night temperature may rise by 1 to 2°C over the country.

Wind direction and speed at Dhaka was reported to be Southwest/Westerly 8 to 15 kph and temporarily gusting to 30 to 40 kph.
