Light to moderate rain likely in parts of country

Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) today predicted that light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind may occur at different parts of the country in 24 hours as of 9 am tomorrow.

"Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at a few places over Chattogram and Barishal divisions and at one or two places over Rajshahi, Rangpur, Mymensingh, Sylhet, Dhaka, and Khulna divisions with moderately heavy falls at places over Barishal and Chattogram divisions," the met office said in a 24 hours weather forecast commencing at 9 am today.

Day temperature may fall slightly over Khulna, Barishal, and Chattogram divisions and it may remain nearly unchanged elsewhere over the country.

Night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country, it said.

The highest temperature on Thursday was recorded 35.2 degrees Celsius at Sylhet and Barishal in Sylhet and Barishal divisions respectively and today's minimum temperature was 24.5 degrees Celsius at Tetulia in Rangpur.

Maximum rainfall in the last 24 hours as of 6 am today was recorded 4 millimeters (mm) at Kumarkhali in Khulna division.

The sun sets at 5.52 pm today and rises at 5.49 am tomorrow in the capital of Dhaka.
