No Covid-19 death reported in Manikganj for 19th consecutive days

No fresh Covid-19-related death was reported in the district during the last 24 hours for the 19th consecutive days on Wednesday, district health department sources said.

The sources said only two new infection cases were reported after testing 117 samples in Colonel Maleque Medical College PCR Lab during the last 24 hours in the district. Currently, the rate of infection stands at 1.7 percent.

The newly infected cases were from Manikganj Sadar upazila and another from Singair Upazila. No new infection was found in the other five upazilas of the district, the sources added.

Medical Officer of Manikganj Civil Surgeon Office Dr. Rafiqun Nahar Banna said a total of 8,173 patients were detected COVID-19 positive in the district so far after testing 45,569 samples.

Besides, the number of cured patients from the lethal virus stood at 7,766 in the district, the medical officer said.

The death toll from the virus stands at 125 in the district.
