Internet to be shut for 3 hours every day

Country’s Internet Service Providers have decided to the shutdown of the internet and the connection of cable television for three hours every day from Sunday (tomorrow).

The Internet Service Providers Association of Bangladesh (ISPAB) and Cable Operators Association of Bangladesh (COAB) took the decision protesting Dhaka South City Corporation’s (DSCC’s) recent move to remove overhead cables.

In this regard, Telecommunications and Information Technology Minister Mustafa Jabbar is scheduled to hold an emergency meeting with the leaders of ISPAB and COAB this evening.

The symbolic shutdown will be from 10:00am to 1:00pm daily, ISPAB said.
