An upgrade to the contact-tracking app of England and Wales serves further warnings about self-isolation.

Gaby Appleton, the new NHS Covid-19 chief, said this was done to help resolve coronavirus spread.

This move coincides with an algorithm update to improve the efficiency of its touch matches.

The Secretary of Health expressed frustration that it was told people to stay home due to false warnings.

As a result, a higher risk score was required before a self-isolating command was activated.
