Keiron Pollard hit a blistering unbeaten fifty as holders Dhaka Dynamites register their fourth win with a 68-run mauling of Rajshahi Kings in a Bangladesh Premier League game at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur today.

The muscular West Indies right-hander struck a 25-ball 52 as Dhaka, sent into bat, racked up 201-7. Rajshahi, in their chase were bowled out for 133 in 18.2 overs.

Pollard provided the late firework in Dhaka innings after his compatriot Evin Lewis set the platform of a big total with a 38-ball 65 that contained ten fours and a six. Pollard hammered five fours and three sixes in his undefeated knock. It was his second fifth after his match-winning 55 against Khulna Titans.

Shahid Afridi departed for a brisk 15 off 8 balls. But opening the innings with Lewis, the Pakistan all-rounder made sure Dhaka got off to a flying start – they scored 75 runs in the first six Powerplay overs.

Afridi however shone with the ball. The wily leg-spinner took four wickets for 26 runs. After left-arm pace bowler Abu Haider, who finished with 3-11, struck early in the Rajshahi innings, Afridi ripped through the middle. He also dismissed Rajshahi’s top scorer Zakir Hossain, the young left-hander who hit a 23-ball 36 that contained five fours and a six.

Dhaka now top the seven-team table with nine points from six game.
