Youth Test: Bangladesh U-19 trail by 113 runs against Sri Lanka U-19

Hosts Bangladesh Under-19 Cricket team were trailed by 113 runs against Sri Lanka Under-19 Cricket team on first day of the 2nd four-day Youth Test match that began at Sheikh Abu Naser Stadium in Khulna on Saturday.

On the day, Young Tigers won the toss and sent the touring Sri Lankan boys to bat first.

Sri Lanka were all out at 184 in 54.3 overs in the first innings, riding on 73 runs by opener Wickramasinghe and 47 runs by Kavishka  Lakshan.

Spinner Shahin Alom claimed 7 wickets for 62 runs, Ashiqur Rahman Ruhit took 2 for 60 and Mehedi Hasan one for 36.

In reply, Bangladesh U-19 team scored 71 for 2 wickets in 23 overs when the bails were draw for the first day.

Opener Prantik Nawrose Nabil and Alvi Hoque remained unbeaten with 28 and 8 runs while Sajid Hossain Seam and Pritom Kumar contributed 26 and 6 runs respectively.

Wickramasinghe picked up two wickets conceding 14 runs.

After the two-match four-day Youth Test series, both the teams will play five youth ODIs -- two matches at the Sheikh Abu Naser Stadium in Khulna on November 9 and 11 and remaining three at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram on November 14, 17 and 19 respectively.

Earlier, the rain-hit first four-day match ended in a draw at Abdur Rab Serniabat Stadium in Barishal.
