Two Bangladeshi umpires came to a new height as they got the direct match allocations for the first time this month at the upcoming ICC Under-19 World Cup in South Africa.

They are Sharfuddowla Ibne Saikat and Masudur Rahman Mukul.

On Monday night, the Bangladesh Cricket Board's media department (BCB) announced that Sharfuddowla Ibne Shahid Saikat and Masudur Rahman Mukul will join the U-19 World Cup cricket matches this month.

In the first round of the U-19 World Cup, both Sharfoddowla and Mukul will conduct five games each as the on-field umpires.

On January 12, Sharfoddowla will launch his World Cup campaign with the match between Pakistan and Nigeria, while on January 13, when Japan takes on Scotland, Mukul will conduct his first match.

"For me, this is a great opportunity. For the first time in an ICC event Bangladeshi umpires are given automatic match allocation. I'm going to try my best to do something wrong, "Mukul told the media.
