Russell Domingo is set to sit down with Mashrafe Mortaza to seek some clarity about the ODI captain's future, Bangladesh Cricket Board official has confirmed to media.

Bangladesh will host Zimbabwe later this month for one Test, three ODIs and two T20Is.

BCB is desperate for some clarity on Mortaza's future and the 36-year-old has already had a chat with Domingo and chief selector Minhajul Abedin.

That meeting, however, yielded nothing significant according to BCB cricket operation chairman Akram Khan.

"Our head coach Domingo will sit with him after returning from Pakistan to know his mind as we have a home series against Zimbabwe," Akram said. "Yes, he [Mashrafe] had spoken with the head coach and chief selector last Friday but the meeting ended without any conclusion. We must get a clear picture about his plan of action as he did not clear it during that meeting."

The retirement talks of Mashrafe have been going around since the World Cup last year but neither BCB nor Mortaza have been able to finalise anything. Mortaza has decided to withdraw his name from the list of nationally contracted cricketers for 2020 but insisted that he wants to continue playing cricket and isn't expecting a farewell.
