Tamim Iqbal struck his twelfth one-day international century to guide Bangladesh to 322-8 in the second one-day international of a three-match series against Zimbabwe in the northeastern city of Sylhet on Tuesday.

Tamim hit his career-best 158 off 136 balls with 20 fours and three sixes and was involved in a few sizable partnerships as Bangladesh dominated the Zimbabwe bowlers after Mashrafe Murtaza opted to bat first.

With his career-best knock, Tamim completed 7000 ODI runs as the first Bangladeshi. The southpaw took 204 ODI innings to complete this fate.

Mushfiqur Rahim hit 55 off 50 balls while Mohammad Mithun remained unbeaten on 32 off 18 balls as Bangladesh raced past the 300-run mark before posting their highest score against Zimbabwe.

Mahmudullah Riyad put on 41 runs off 57 balls hitting three fours.

Earlier, Bangladesh won the toss and opted to bat.

Bangladesh rested all-rounder Mohammad Saifuddin and pace bowler Mustafizur Rahman with Al-Amin Hossain and Shafiul Islam coming in as they look to wrap up the three-match series with a game to spare.

Zimbabwe captain Sean Williams returned to the side, after missing Sunday's record defeat in the first match for personal reasons. He places the injured Chamu Chibhabh.

Zimbabwe gave an ODI debut to Charlton Tshuma with Chris Mpofu missing out.

Bangladesh lead the three-match series 1-0 after their 169-run win at the same ground Sunday.

The remaining matches will be played on March 6. After the ODI series, both teams will lock horns in a two-match T20I series in Dhaka respectively on March 9 and 11.
