Shakib, Mashrafee, will Participate in the upcoming domestic T20 tournament.

All-rounder Shakib Al Hasan was suspended by Bangladesh and former ODI skipper Mashrafee bin Mortaza was included in the upcoming domestic T20 competition, officials from the Bangladesh Cricket Board said on Monday.

Shakib is serving a one-year ban for failing to fix unethical approaches and will be free to play from next October 29, while Mashrafee declined to play in the ongoing three-team 50 competition that began on 11 October citing fitness issues.

We had them [Shakib and Mashrafee] included in the tournament. For the five teams that are expected to compete in the tournament, we have preliminarily selected about 75 cricketers, "Minhajul told Media on Monday.

The seasoned all-rounder, Mashrafee, expressed his desire to play in the T20 league, while BCB officials insisted that Shakib al Hasan looks to make a comeback through the tournament and has been in regular communication with the board regarding the league update.

While it is yet to be finalized if a corporate tournament or funded by the BCB will be the upcoming domestic T20 tournament that is expected to begin after the ongoing BCB Presidents Cup, it is reported that this tournament will take place.
