In the latest changes to the test rankings by the International Cricket Council (ICC) on Wednesday, Bangladesh fell behind Afghanistan.

After falling to 10th on the list with a ranking of 55, Bangladesh became the lowest-ranked team. Afghanistan is ninth with 57 points in the standings. Although Bangladesh's cumulative score of 55 came in 17 games, Afghanistan only played three games in the same period.

In the one-off test at Chattogram in September 2019, Afghanistan defeated the Tigers by a huge margin of 224 runs before they also beat Ireland away from home by seven wickets in Dublin in March last year.

In the meantime, New Zeland topped the ranking for the first time ever.
