5.4-magnitude quake strikes Japan's Wakayama Prefecture

An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 5.4 struck Wakayama Prefecture in southwest Japan on the Kii Peninsula, the weather agency said on Friday.

According to the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA), the temblor's epicenter was located at a latitude of 33.7 degrees north and longitude of 135 degrees east with a depth of 50 km.
