80 navy peacekeepers leave for Lebanon UN mission

A total of 80 members of Bangladesh Navy (BN) left Chittagong Shah Amanat International Airport for Lebanon on Thursday to join the Peace Keeping Mission BANCON-10.

They will join the warship of Bangladesh Navy `Bijoy’, which has been deployed in Lebanon, said an Inter Service Public Relation (ISPR) Directorate press release.

Commander of BNS Isha Khan Commodore M Nizamul Haque saw off the naval members at the airport. Senior Navy officers and family members of Lebanon bound Navy members were also present at the airport.

Earlier on July 4, a team of 30 members of Bangladesh Navy left Bangladesh for Lebanon.

It may be mentioned that BN war ships have been performing its responsibilities in the Lebanon peace keeping mission since 2010.
