Mirpur militant’s aides held in N’ganj

Lawmen claimed arrest of two persons from Narayanganj, who they say were associates of a Neo JMB militant killed during raid in Mirpur’s Darus Salam last month.

The arrestees were identified as Samrat Mia, 21, and Shahadat Hossain, 22, both held from Siddhirganj yesterday afternoon, said Rapid Action Battalion (Rab).

Rab-12 Commanding Officer Selim Md Jahangir said Samrat was a close associate of militant Abdullah, whose charred remains were recovered in the Darus Salam raid.

The arrest was led from information obtained from a militant arrested in Tangail, who also divulged the whereabouts of Abdullah, said to be a top operative of the militant group.
