Fire kills five of a Bangladeshi family in Kuwait

Five members of a Bangladeshi family died of suffocation after a fire broke out at a building in Salmiyat area of Kuwait on Monday.

People familiar with the incident said wife of a certain Junayed from Moulvibazar district and his four children were killed after a compressor of an air conditioner blasted at their residence in Kuwait.

The deceased are Rokeya Begum and her two sons - Fahad and Imad and two daughters - Jamila and Namila. They hailed from Kamalganj upazila of Moulvibazar district.

According to a resident of the victims' locality Joynal Abedin, Junayed Mia with his family members has been living in Kuwait for 15 years.

“Junayed’s wife and his four children die of suffocation as their residence caught fire due to an AC compressor blast.”
